Know Your Numbers and Eat Across The Rainbow Party was a great success! It was a unique way for me to bring awareness to the problem of heart disease.  Heart disease is the number one killer in the world but so many women don’t know that. Our go RED kickoff event provides us the opportunity to educate one another on heart health and and have some fun while we’re at it.  The event began with a few words from Dr. Nina Radcliff, a Practicing Physician, Syndicated Columnist, Television Contributor, who shared facts about high blood pressure and talked about coronary heart disease, the most common cause of heart attacks. The entire event is designed to focus on increasing awareness and establishing good health habits and knowing our numbers.

One of the best parts about this event was us cooking and working collaboratively as a community to achieve a common goal. A special thanks to my wonderful friend Ceylone Boothe Grooms, Rikki Renz and John Leon, who helped make this occasion a major success. This event could not happen without the dedication of my beautiful friend, Dr. Nina Radcliff, a healthcare experts who offered outstanding hospitality and provide us with free screenings and priceless information on “High Blood Pressure and living heart healthy lifestyle”.

It is yet another example of the role we all play in educating and improving the health of our communities—a role I’m proud to be a part of. As always, thank you for the great work every one of you does in our community every day.
